PayPal
AffiliateWP records a commission when a customer your affiliate sent pays through a PayPal button on your site, at the amount PayPal reports for the payment.
Commissions on the PayPal Buttons on Your Site
When a visitor who came through an affiliate’s link clicks a PayPal button on your site, AffiliateWP records a pending referral for that affiliate. Once PayPal confirms the payment, AffiliateWP sets the commission from the payment total and marks it unpaid.
It works with the button code PayPal gives you for your website, and that covers Buy Now, Add to Cart, Donate, Subscribe and Gift Certificate buttons.
How It Works
Turn on PayPal Buttons
Check PayPal Buttons under AffiliateWP › Settings › Integrations.
Add your PayPal button
Paste the button code from PayPal’s Website tab onto any page your affiliates link to.
PayPal confirms the payment
AffiliateWP works out the commission from the payment total and marks the referral unpaid.
What You Can Set
AffiliateWP adds no settings of its own for PayPal buttons. Your commission settings apply.
Your usual referral rates
Each commission uses your default rate, or the affiliate’s own rate when they have one.
Refunds reject the commission
A refund or reversal in PayPal rejects its commission while Reject Unpaid Referrals on Refund is on, and it’s on by default.
A link to the payment
Each referral’s reference opens the transaction in your PayPal account.
Subscription renewals Pro
With the Recurring Referrals addon, each renewal payment on a Subscribe button earns the affiliate a new commission.
What You Need
Works with
PayPal button code from your PayPal account, placed on a page of your WordPress site.
Keep in mind
It only tracks PayPal’s HTML button code from the Website tab. A payment link copied from PayPal’s Email tab isn’t tracked.
Set Up PayPal Buttons
The setup guide covers turning on the integration, the button types it supports, and how commissions on subscriptions work.
