Pay Every Affiliate Automatically, On Time Every Time
AffiliateWP now pays your affiliates automatically. Set a schedule once, and from then on every affiliate is paid on time, every time, each through the method they’re already set up with.
Affiliate payouts have always been a job you have to come back to. Every week, or every month, you open the payout screen and run it by hand. Paying everyone already took just a few clicks, but it still took you: someone had to remember, and the affiliate waiting on a commission feels every day you’re late.
That matters more than it sounds. Your affiliates are partners, and they put their energy where they trust they’ll be paid, on a predictable cadence, without having to chase you for it. Payouts that arrive like clockwork are a reason to keep promoting you; ones that slip give even your best affiliates a reason to quietly cool off.
When a payout slips, it’s rarely about the money. It’s the run that didn’t happen because it was sitting on your to-do list.
That’s the part a schedule fixes. Pick weekly or monthly, choose who’s included, and from then on the payouts run on their own. Here’s how it works.
Set a schedule once, and forget the payout day
A schedule is quick to set up and does exactly what you’d expect. Choose who it pays: everyone eligible, specific affiliates, or whole affiliate groups. Choose how often it runs, weekly or monthly, and which day.
Set a minimum-earnings amount if you’d rather not send tiny payouts, and decide whether to include commissions still in their holding period. Name it, or let AffiliateWP name it for you. That’s the whole setup.
From then on, the schedule runs itself. You don’t open a payout screen, you don’t pick a date, and you don’t have to remember. Affiliates get paid on time because the schedule doesn’t forget.
Every affiliate paid their own way, automatically
Automatic Payouts pays each affiliate through the method they’re already set up with. One affiliate takes PayPal, another Stripe, a loyal customer takes store credit, and a single scheduled run pays all of them, each their own way, in one batch. It’s the same per-affiliate routing you use on the Pay Affiliates screen, now running on its own.
Affiliates set to be paid manually are simply skipped, since a manual payout is one you make by hand on purpose. Everyone who can be paid automatically, is.
Make any payout automatic
If you already run a payout by hand, you don’t have to rebuild it as a schedule. Set up a payout the way you always do on the Pay Affiliates screen, and instead of just paying it once, save it as a schedule. The filters you picked, who’s included, the minimum, and the holding-period choice all carry over, so the payout you run every month becomes the payout that runs itself.
Automatic, but you’re always in control
Automatic doesn’t mean hands-off in the ways that matter. You stay in control of every schedule: pause one before a slow month and resume it after, edit who it pays or how often at any time, run it early with Run now, or delete it.
Every run is recorded, so you can see exactly what each schedule paid, when it last ran, and when it runs next, right from the Schedules tab. And because runs are handled one at a time behind the scenes, schedules never overlap, so one run can’t collide with another and pay someone twice.
If a scheduled payout ever runs into trouble, whether the whole run or just one affiliate’s payment, AffiliateWP emails you about it. An unattended payout never fails quietly, so you’re never left wondering whether payout day actually happened.
Already paying affiliates? Nothing changes until you set one up
Automatic Payouts is opt-in. Your manual payouts work exactly as they do today, and nothing runs on its own until you create a schedule and set it live. When you’re ready, you set one up in a minute, and payout day stops being a day you have to remember.
This release also includes a range of behind-the-scenes fixes and compatibility improvements. See the full changelog for the complete list.
