You can now ask your AI assistant about your affiliate program in plain English, and hand it the routine work too.
Ask Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor who your top affiliates were last month, and it answers from your own AffiliateWP data. Tell it to approve this week’s applications or credit an affiliate for a sale they sent you, and it makes the change in AffiliateWP for you.
First, let me show you what you can ask it, then what stays in your control and how to connect it in a few minutes.
Hand your AI assistant the routine work
Every example below is a single message, typed the way you’d ask a colleague. Your assistant works out which part of AffiliateWP to look at and comes back with the answer.
See who drives your sales
The question you ask most often is the easiest place to start:
Who were my top five affiliates last month, and how much did each one earn?
Your assistant pulls the ranking for the dates you named, so there’s no report to filter and nothing to export. It works the same for referrals, payouts and your program totals over any date range.
Clear your application queue
When applications pile up, ask for the list first:
Show me this week’s pending affiliate applications.
Then approve the ones you’ve decided on:
Approve Jordan Lee and Priya Shah.
Both affiliates get the same approval email they’d get if you’d clicked Approve yourself. Deciding who to accept stays with you, and with AI Review, which judges each application in the Review Affiliate drawer. Your assistant clears the queue once you’ve made the call.
Credit an affiliate for a sale they sent you
Sometimes a customer buys without ever clicking an affiliate’s link, like when Maria tells a friend about your store and they type your address in later. Now crediting her is one message:
Maria sent us the customer on order 4182, but they didn’t use her link. Add a $45 referral for her.
Your assistant finds Maria, adds the referral as unpaid with the order as its reference, and it shows up in AffiliateWP > Referrals like any other. It can correct a referral’s amount or change its status too, as long as that referral isn’t already part of a payout.
Give your affiliates something new to share
Before a promotion, your affiliates need something to post:
Add a QR code creative that links to our spring sale page.
It can add text link and image creatives the same way, and your affiliates see the new creative in their affiliate dashboard straight away.
Find your best campaigns
To see which campaigns are working, ask:
Which campaigns have the best conversion rate?
Campaign stats cover each campaign’s whole life, so this answers which campaigns perform best overall rather than which did best last month.
Run your weekly check-in in one prompt
The real time saver is chaining a few of these together into one message you send every Monday:
Summarize last week’s referrals, list this week’s pending applications, and flag affiliates with more than $500 unpaid. Then give me the three things to do first.
Your assistant reads all three, puts them side by side, and ends on a short to-do list for the week.
You decide what it can change
The beauty here is that your assistant acts as you. It signs in as the WordPress user who connected it, so it can only see and do what that user can in AffiliateWP.
Reading is always on. Changing anything in AffiliateWP is off until you turn on Enable MCP Write Access in the AI Permissions section of the AI MCP tab, and the switch works the same whichever connector you use. While it’s off, your assistant isn’t even offered AffiliateWP’s actions that make changes.
Even with write access on, AffiliateWP’s AI tools can’t delete anything, change your settings or send money. Marking a referral as paid records it as paid, and the payout itself still happens in AffiliateWP. Program settings are read without your API keys, secret keys or email templates, and visits are read without your visitors’ IP addresses.
There is one thing to keep in mind though. The connector plugin has its own permissions, which you choose when you connect it, and on a read and write connection it can reach parts of your site outside AffiliateWP. If you only want answers, connect it read-only.
Connect your assistant with WPVibe or StoreAgent
AffiliateWP’s AI tools are built on the WordPress Abilities API, and a free connector plugin makes them available to your assistant over MCP, the open standard AI assistants use to work with other software. You add the connector from the AI MCP tab.
WPVibe connects your assistant to your whole WordPress site, AffiliateWP included, and it works whether or not you run WooCommerce.
If you run a WooCommerce store, StoreAgent is another great option. It’s a WooCommerce AI agent that also answers your shoppers around the clock and writes product content for you, and it connects your assistant to your store and AffiliateWP.
Both work with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any other assistant that supports MCP.
Connect your AI assistant in four steps
Setup takes a few minutes, and it needs WordPress 6.9 or later, which is where the Abilities API ships.
- Go to AffiliateWP > Tools and open the AI MCP tab.
- Install and activate WPVibe from its row with one click. If you’re using WooCommerce, you’ll also see StoreAgent below it.
- Set up the connector and follow its steps to connect your AI assistant.
- To let your assistant make changes, turn on Enable MCP Write Access.
The AI assistants documentation lists everything your assistant can read and change.
Available on every AffiliateWP plan
AI assistants work on every AffiliateWP plan, so all you need is the latest update.
Next step: open the AI MCP tab, connect WPVibe, and send your assistant the weekly check-in prompt above. Then see what it puts at the top of your list.
AI assistant FAQs
No. It sees an applicant’s name, email and status, not their answers to your application form, so judging an application stays with you and AI Review. Once you’ve decided, your assistant can approve or reject them in one message.
No. It can mark a referral as paid, which records it, but it can’t send money. You still pay affiliates from AffiliateWP.
Approving or rejecting an affiliate sends the same email it would from the admin. A new affiliate your assistant adds gets no welcome email unless you ask for one.
