How It Works
Turn on Easy Digital Downloads
Check Easy Digital Downloads under AffiliateWP › Settings › Integrations.
An affiliate sends a customer
The customer arrives through the affiliate’s link, and AffiliateWP records the visit.
A commission is recorded
When the customer completes a purchase, AffiliateWP records a referral for that affiliate.
What You Can Set
A rate for each download
Set a referral rate on any download, or turn referrals off for it, from the download’s own edit screen.
A rate for each category
Give a download category its own referral rate, so a whole product line can pay differently.
Affiliate discount codes
Link an EDD discount code to an affiliate, and every purchase that uses it credits them.
License renewals and upgrades
With EDD Software Licensing, choose whether renewals and license upgrades earn a commission.
Subscription renewals Pro
With EDD Recurring Payments and the Recurring Referrals addon, each renewal payment earns the affiliate a new commission.
Refunds follow the purchase
Refund a purchase and AffiliateWP rejects its commission, as long as you haven’t paid it yet.

Keep in mind
Discount codes are the ones you create and link yourself. AffiliateWP doesn’t generate a code for each affiliate in EDD, as it does in WooCommerce.

When a purchase is marked refunded, AffiliateWP rejects its commission if you haven’t paid it yet. A commission you’ve already paid stays paid. The Reject Unpaid Referrals on Refund setting controls this, and it’s on by default.
The affiliate who owns the discount code. AffiliateWP gives the referral to the code’s affiliate, even when the visit came through someone else’s link.
